9:15 - 10:45 am - Opening Keynote: Fear of Success is Fear of Change

Jennifer PowellSpeaker: Jennifer Powell, Executive Director, Girls on the Run

All to often, we say we want to change, we want success, but we don't really want to do what it requires to make change happen. With success comes challenges and growth, and not everyone likes what stepping outside of your comfort zone feels like. I stopped making New Year's resolutions years ago because I never followed through. I know that you have to have a plan for your dreams and goals but I've also learned that you have to be willing to flexible if necessary. No decision is permanent. This whole realization made me feel better about the decisions I've made and better embrace the change and challenges that our success can bring in the future.

Say Hello to stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing the process of letting go of your fears.

Jennifer Powell has led a diverse and interesting career as photographer, wellness warrior, pageant queen, child advocate and now Executive Director of Girls on the Run. In a time where the program needed a bold voice and fearless leader, Jennifer showed up. This organization is bigger than a run or a fun community event. This organization holds the potential to ignite dream-building, confidence-creating, and skill-sculpting for so many deserving girls. It has the potential to help build stories beyond our wildest dreams and set the tone for a promising future.

2:45 - 3:45 pm - Closing Keynote: Is Your Inner Critic Designing Your Future?

Carla HowardSpeaker: Carla Howard

We’ve all got one: That critical voice inside our head that runs a constant commentary about everything we do, say or dare to dream. Sometimes it’s a faint whisper, other times the voice is so loud that it drowns out all other thoughts. That is our inner critic, and it usually shows up in a very convincing way when we are about to do something big! Learn how to do more brave things, dream bigger and experience more joy in your life. Don’t let your inner critic create your future!

  • The 3-step process to keep your inner critic in check while you do exciting and brave things!
  • Learn how to bring your inner critic along for the journey (as a passenger, not the driver)
  • How to Tap into Your Inner Mentor

Carla Howard has served as a trusted adviser and mentor for over two decades. She understands the challenges facing business professionals, and is passionate about helping women take charge of their careers. Carla is a keynote speaker with a focus on helping women rise with confidence and grace.
