Farm to Table Menu Planning – A Local ApproachSpeakers: Ruben Fields, Miccosukee Root Cellar and Louise Divine,Turkey Hill Farm If you haven’t heard the term "farm to table," you haven’t been eating out much. Restaurants with menus featuring fresh, local ingredients have been popping up around our towns like butternut squash and heirloom tomatoes in an autumn garden. The demand for food free of hormones and pesticides, as well as tastier than any dish prepared with more than a pinch of preservatives, has people crowding into these eateries. It only makes sense to incorporate this healthy and delicious food into your events, too. Menus created around local, seasonal, fresh-from-the-farm ingredients are increasingly popular, especially on the event circuit. We as planners want the dining choices of our events to reflect our company’s personality and individuality. Never fear: Going local, for everything from food to flowers, is easier than you think! Ruben Fields owner of Miccosukee Root Cellar and his mother, Louise Divine, owner of Turkey Hill Farm will discuss the advantages of farm to table menu planning at this month's roundtable. The FSAE Meeting Planner Roundtable is open to FSAE Executive Members and Meeting Planners only. Online registration is open until one day prior to the luncheon. On-site registrations are based on availability and are on a first-come basis. The luncheon will begin promptly at 11:30 am and end at 1:00 pm. There is no charge for this event, although a donation to the FSAE Foundation is encouraged. Cancellations should be directed to the FSAE office by calling (850) 702-0942. Individuals who fail to cancel reservations prior to noon on the Tuesday before the Roundtable will be billed $25. No shows will be billed $25.
