All materials will be provided to make adorable, comforting buddies - just pick an animal, add love and stuffing, and add an outfit :)
FSAE is excited to announce our new staff member, Pamela Cabrera as Events & Marketing Coordinator! Pamela will be working closely with event staff to plan our Roundtable meetings and support our education and event programs. She will also be taking on the marketing of our events from website to social media.
Pamela is a recent graduate from the Florida State University with a B.S in Hospitality and Tourism Management and also received a Special Events Certification. Welcome Pamela!

The Online Auction opens June 1 and closes Monday, June 10 at 9 pm EST. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has recently passed two rulings that impact the association space: Business Impersonation / Fraud and Banning Non-Compete Agreements.
Business Impersonation / Fraud
The FTC Rule on Impersonation to combat scams was passed earlier this spring and went into effect April 1. Impersonation includes scammers selling fake membership lists or hotel room blocks. The FTC also shared new data on the most common ways consumers are targeted by these treacherous scams. Combined, reported losses to these impersonation scams topped $1.1 billion for the year, more than three times what consumers reported in 2020. Additionally, the ruling includes a method to report fraud, scams and bad business acts: ReportFraud.ftc.gov

The House has released their tax package that contains some significate changes to Tourism Development Taxes.
David Grossman and Consumer Technology Association have been stalwart leaders in the effort to rid our communities of the spammers members fake membership list offers and/or impersonate our room blocks using our logos or spoofing our email domains. The FTC made a final ruling to help us protect our organizations and members from these scams. He is sharing this info with us below -
Recently, the FTC issued its long-awaited final rule prohibiting the impersonation of government, businesses, and their officials or agents in interstate commerce. CTA is in the process of reviewing the text. It will become effective 30 days from the date it is published in the Federal Register.
